Providing Food and Childcare for Decades
Gateway to Heaven Church was founded in 1991 by the late Bishop James Taite and Overseer Shirley Ann Taite. Our organization has been instrumental in providing food and childcare for the needy throughout the years. Since, January 2000, our ministry has grown tremendously by the grace of God.
Our ministry has partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast, The Red Cross, and several other local/regional agencies to provide food, shelter, educational resources, and many other types of assistance.
Over the last 35 years Gateway has evolved and transitioned into a local and global outreach center. In March of 2020 the ministry decided to launch Gateway Global Outreach Bible College & Seminary under the leadership of the new Pastor Dr. Shirley C. Taite.

Our Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals, uplift communities, and foster positive transformation through our ministry’s dedicated focus on community outreach. We are a ministry that goes into the highways and hedges compelling souls to seek Jesus Christ so that God’s house may be filled. By embracing the values of compassion, inclusivity, and service, we strive to address the unique needs and challenges faced by our community members.
Through collaborative efforts, meaningful partnerships, and impactful programs, we aim to create a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Our ministry is committed to making a lasting difference, spreading love, and building a stronger, more connected community for all.
We have a strong focus on the youth. It is our ministry vision that Gateway be filled with children and young adults that have a relationship with God and that are well balanced individuals. Gateway endeavors to bridge the gap for the challenged youth in our community.
